Alex went down to Florida to race in the Speedweeks at New Symrna Speedway in The #51 Kyle Busch Super Late Model. The team arrived for the Thursday night race. Alex having never been there before had only two 15 minute practice session before qualifying. He qualified 5th fastest and with the invert he started on the pole. He was just biding his time to still figure out the track when he was running 4th a lapped car got in the way and the 5th place car dumped him and did some pretty significant damage to the car, which ended his night. They went to a back up car for the Friday night race, only to be cancelled due to rain. On Saturday they were prepared to compete in the Pete Orr Memorial 100 lap race. Alex felt more comfortable with the track now and qualified 2nd fastest. Due to the invert he now started in the 4th position and when he was able to get to the second position there just wasn't enough laps left to catch the leader. " I would like to thank my team for all their hard work this weekend. I had alot of fun! I would like to also thank Kyle for giving me this opportunity.

Alex and his 5 man crew had a pretty good weekend at the Toyota Showdown. Alex was the fastest in practice on Thursday night and felt very good about his car. On Friday he qualified 2nd fastest with only 2 guys being in the 17 second mark. He had a 17.941. Alex had a great race going, being patient and just waiting for the right time to make his move, but with the double file restarts they had alot of cautions with not alot of green flag racing. Alex took the lead and led for about 8 laps when the caution flew yet again. Alex didn't have the best restart and fell back to 4th but still had a great car. He was blocked in and making the pass for 3rd when the 4th place car decided to put Alex right into the wall. It was unfortunate because it destroyed 2 really fast cars. We will put the car back together and be back for next year.
